Playing Golf – Johnny Goodrich

… and made plenty of money, played 200 rounds of golf, and everything … it was fabulous. Made more money by accident in a week, not much, like 50 bucks, something like that, but it was more than we would have made on the railroad, killing ourselves.

(Joe) But, ’48, where were you coming back from?

College.

But, here now, that reminded me … was this. We decided, well, let’s go over and see Andy Stone. He was over at the depot. So, we walked out through the kitchen of the Shallot(?) Cafe … here’s Johnny Goodrich, who was a … character, from the county, washing .. they were washing dishes by hand, and he was wiping these dishes, with sweat … and he was wiping his face, and then dishes, and then his face … God all Friday.

Now, Ed Ferdeen was the manager of the theater. And, huh, about once a week he had to kick Johnny Goodrich out because he was … bothering people. He would laugh, and would laugh … and I can laugh just like Johnny Goodrich because everbody in town could immitate him. aaaAAAHHH! Yeaahh! Yea … AAAHHAA! Louder than that. Then, Yea-AH-HA-HA.

So Ed would go down there and say, “Johnny – out.” But he was enjoying the movie. Or, even the ads. Oh God.
